Blue Mountains

(6)
We're headed west on I-70, making good time for a van
Am I just one lucky joker, or part of some bigger plan, I don't know
All I see through the windshield are the blue, blue, blue, blue mountains.

We're headed for Colorado
Those blue mountains are gonna be mine.
We'll drive straight up to the top of one
Just to look down the other side.
All I see through the windshield are the blue, blue, blue, blue mountains.

The closer we got, the more they looked brown
As we pulled into Melissa's new town.
She drank in the air as I weakened and stared
Overcome by the thought that I don't belong there.
All I see in my mind are the blue, blue, blue, blue mountains.

Well I dropped her off with her U-Haul
And I caught a plane headed east,
Back to the red mud of Georgia
And a date with my personal beasts.
All I see from my windowseat are the blue, blue, blue, blue mountains.
